Neil’s first interest in the property industry was when he attended university. Working for a small lettings company he helped fellow students find accommodation for the term. After university Neil moved into the financial sector as a mortgage adviser with a high street bank, a position that allowed him to amalgamate his passion for property with his love for statistics. While working for the bank, he was given the opportunity to join a local estate agency in Lewisham as a mortgage broker. This position gave Neil a front-row seat into what it takes to run and own a successful estate agency, seeing the entire property transaction process from start to finish – an experience that would take his passion for the industry to the next level.
Neil decided that he wanted to own a real estate agency – but with a difference. He wanted an office that would place the customer experience above all else, providing a comprehensive service to both sellers and buyers from beginning to end. He opened up an independent agency called Charles Knight Estate Agents, using his experience and knowledge to build a thriving office with a substantial lettings portfolio. While the office continued to grow and see success, Neil felt that he could better serve his clients with the backing of a reputable real estate brand that was highly proficient in both lettings and sales – enter RE/MAX.
